Just got assaulted with the urge to cook today — partly due to the fact that I am feeling enough under the weather that I can’t really think well enough to program, and partly due to the fact that one of the RUF people claims that tofu is just disgusting in any form, so I promised (sorta) to make tofu for them Thursday. Now, the recipe I chose is a stir-fry that is definitely not vegetarian — it has pork chops and chicken stock in it.

Of course, this raises the question: Should I attempt to make my own chicken stock tonight? Or should I buy a (definitely inferior) store-bought version?

Since I do have that huge pot (which I’ll have to photograph and post on this blog), I’ve decided that I should definitely at least attempt to make some stock. Therefore, it’s off to the bookstore with my tax refund to buy some more cookbooks (of which you can never have enough), then probably off home to look through the stock recipes (now that I think of it, I do have the awesome Julia Child cookbook set that I could get a recipe out of — nah, cookbook shopping is much too fun). Then, most certainly off to the grocery store!

This will be sooooo much fun — I promise to take photos and upload them at some point.
